Easter Favorites

Here are some Easter Favorites.

I tried a new sugar cookie recipe this Holiday.  It was a HIT.  Thanks to Linda & Lisa for the recipe.  Here's the recipe if you need a new one to try.

Sugar Cookies
1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp soda
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 tsp. fresh lemon juice
2 1/2 cups flour

Mix together and then chill dough. Roll out and cut into cookies. Bake at 400 for 6-8 minutes.

I even found a cross, bible, lamb & church cookie cutter at our local variety store.

The Easter bunny brought the kids the usual flip flops & swimming suit but the big HIT was a Hex Bug.  They love them and adults do too.
Ah, a boy and a bucket of eggs!
And my girl with her eggs!
A special Easter favorite is the Resurrection Eggs.  We start 12 days out from Easter Sunday and do an egg each day.  What a great way to instill the story of Easter.
Easter books.  It's so fun to read books you haven't read in a year b/c they've been put away.
I got a new one this year and it has to be my all time favorite Holiday book ever!  It hits the nail on the head about what Easter is all about.  It's not about the dresses, the hats, the eggs- it's about Jesus and what He did or ALL of US on the cross.

Easter Smiles

Oh good, I have some pics of Isaac actually smiling and not breaking down.
This is the kids after church on Sunday!  Man, I love what she learns on Sunday in Children's Church.  The things that she comes home and tells us about the lessons they learn just floor me!  I couldn't be more thankful for a church that teaches our young people while their parents get taught and grow as well!

Easter

The kids before the hunt.  Ike got himself all in a funk for some reason.
He loved picking up eggs and kept saying "mo" for more.
Then he fell down and the eggs spilled and he got himself into a bigger funk.
 Oh it was pathetic.
Audrey managed to really enjoy herself to the fullest and so did her belly!
Happy Easter!

The Revealing!

The pics say it all!  What a fun, exciting & extremely blessed day it was!
It's a GIRL!  This is my favorite picture. It just bring tears to my eyes.
Audrey found out with everyone else.  She was very confident from the beginning (although this morning she waivered on her guess a little bit) that it was a girl.  She wanted a sister!
My brother Luke had this in his pocket.
My Dad was wearing a big funny hat and he had this egg in the top.

Seeing our Baby

Yesterday afternoon we got to see our baby.  It was AWESOME!  Baby was moving around quite a bit and at one point was opening his or her mouth, like it was sucking.  Little #3 is healthy and growing like it should.  Praise the Lord!
Here's our little baby boy or girl sporting the alien look.
Daddy going over all the pictures of our baby with Audrey.  She was very interested.

And here's the invite that went to our families.  We can't wait to share with them (in the way of a cake) what Little #3 will be- a boy or girl!  {and yes, pictures will follow!}

The Way to do it

A month or so ago Chris and I went to KC for the weekend.  We sold our Big 12 tickets b/c our Cats were out (sniff sniff) so we went to a movie!  We saw The Kings Speech (wow- it was great!) and sat in these chairs with a waitress serving us in these comfy chairs!  It was so fun to see an amazing movie in this swanky theatre (in the Power & Light District)!
{They give you warm cloths to wash your buttery hands with and then when you are walking out they give you a piece of Ghirardelli chocolate!}
Now, this is the way to do it!

B&G

Biscuits & Gravy (B&G as my family calls it) have become a Saturday morning tradition around here.  The BEST part is that it's made especially by Daddy!  This is his meal- he makes it and makes it GOOD!  The kids love this Saturday morning special meal and so do I.

We usually don't eat "naked" but it happened this Saturday morning.

Gotta Go!

Sometimes you just gotta go and gotta go bad.  Did you know that holding both sides will help you not have to go as bad?

This little guy is a very focused colorer.  The tongue effect creates for more creativity and focus.

First Sign of Spring

The tradition of putting up the trampoline at Mima & Pops has defiinitely become a true sign that spring is on its way.  Pops likes all the kids to help put it up and then he got the first jump to make sure they put it up correctly.

And the kids jumping - getting their jumping legs ready for a long trampoline season.
When I was in 6th grade my brothers were jumping out of the tree house onto the trampoline.  So, they convinced me to do it - so like a good sister I did and bounced right in the middle and then flung what seemed like 100 feet in the air and trying not to fall off the trampoline I caught myself and my shoulder didn't fair well.  It broke.  Ouch.
Let's pray this trampoline season is an injury free one for these little kiddos!  And note to others- don't do what your brothers say you should.
