Here are some Easter Favorites.
I tried a new sugar cookie recipe this Holiday. It was a HIT. Thanks to Linda & Lisa for the recipe. Here's the recipe if you need a new one to try.
Sugar Cookies
1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco 1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp soda
1 egg
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 tsp. fresh lemon juice
2 1/2 cups flour
Mix together and then chill dough. Roll out and cut into cookies. Bake at 400 for 6-8 minutes.
I even found a cross, bible, lamb & church cookie cutter at our local variety store.
The Easter bunny brought the kids the usual flip flops & swimming suit but the big HIT was a Hex Bug. They love them and adults do too.
Ah, a boy and a bucket of eggs!
And my girl with her eggs!
A special Easter favorite is the Resurrection Eggs. We start 12 days out from Easter Sunday and do an egg each day. What a great way to instill the story of Easter.
Easter books. It's so fun to read books you haven't read in a year b/c they've been put away.
I got a new one this year and it has to be my all time favorite Holiday book ever! It hits the nail on the head about what Easter is all about. It's not about the dresses, the hats, the eggs- it's about Jesus and what He did or ALL of US on the cross.
