Last of It
The snow yesterday came much to our dismay but hopefully this is the LAST OF IT.
Because the snow came, we made tortilla soup and hopefully this is the LAST bowl of soup for the season.
The kids wanted snow ice cream so I said yes hoping that these two bowls were the LAST bowls of snow I
would gather from outside.

Cali
Chris and I are coming off a great California vacation to see my brother Ben and his family.
We picked lemons & oranges from the trees in their backyard and now we have a stash in our fridge in KS.
This beautiful palm is in their backyard.
Chris & Ben got to go to the Pacific Palisades PGA Golf Tourney. They were within arms reach of guys like Phil Mickelson & Freddy Couples. They were (and still are) all smiles about their fun afternoon with some golfing Greats. Christina, William and I went to Santa Monica to do lunch and shopping at the Promonade.
We got lots of cuddles with this cute little guy.
We ate a great dinner at a hot spot called The Back Abbey.
Aunt & Uncle with Baby William (who's not so much a baby anymore).
We had such a wonderful time and are already looking forward to our next CA vacation. Thanks to Ben & Christina for living in such a beautiful & fun state.

A Sweet Victory
Valentine's Day 2011 turned out to be a very good day.
1. A beautiful bouquet of flowers (tulips) arrived.
2. Kids went to a babysitter.
3. Chris and I headed to Manhattan.
4. We ate at Harry's- I had 9oz of the most awesome buttered poached lobster. I can still taste it!
5. We met some friends for a little bit before the game.
6. Went to THE game.
7. Before tipoff I thought "What If", "What If we would WIN?".
8. So, I took a picture just in case.
9. It was going exceptionally well.
10. I almost didn't want to move at halftime for fear it would mess the vibe up. But, I did and the vibe continued.
11. I started to taste it at this point. I could feel it. We were going to do it but there was still some doubt (we know how our season has gone thus far).
12. We held on and it was good. Very very good.
13. If there's ever been a time when we needed a big victory- it was now.

Heart Day
Audrey's been looking forward to Valentine's Day for a couple weeks now. She woke up this morning for a heart pancake with red & pink sprinkles (it's the little things)!
Here's some Valentine's preparations these past couple weeks.
Yesterday after we got home from church Audrey said "we learned all about LOVE in Sunday School"! She was beyond excited to tell us what she had learned. I LOVE that!
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Here's some Valentine's preparations these past couple weeks.
Practiced eating candy.
Addressed all her preschool Valentine cards.
Stuck on LOTS of stickers.
More decorating.
We made clay hearts.
Our first batch of Valentine's cookies.
The aftermath.
The second batch. She was very focused.
He was just content gooping frosting on and then taking big bites of the sugary mess.
Ike's masterpiece.
Audrey and Mommy's work.
Audrey posing in front of the candy decorations.
Audrey's Valentine!

The Story of Freddy (the snowman)
Last Friday Pops came over and him and the kids built a snowman. Well, they built two- one in our yard and then built one {which Audrey named Freddy} in the middle of our cul-de-sac!
{here's Freddy in the making}
{the final product, Pops and I thought he looked like a Star Wars character}
{here he stands}
{one afternoon our neighbor Steve put a green hat on Freddy- he needed a hat, he was cold}
{and here stands Freddy today, 5 days later and after our massive amount of snow we got} The highlight of this story is that the City crews were out this morning bright and early blading our cul-de-sac and they left Freddy standing- they took special care to not knock him over!! Unbelievable ~ only in a small town!!
So, now you know Freddy. We love our little friend but won't be too sad when the sun melts him and all this snow away! :-)

You know...
it's going to be a long day when the first things out of your daughters mouth this morning are: "where are we going today, Mommy?"
