A "GREAT" Halloween

This morning a spider, a lion and a Mommy made a visit to three "GREAT" people.

Great Nana (Chris' Grandma): 84 years young
Great Grandpa Scoby (My Grandpa Scoby): 10 days shy of being 90 years old
"GG" Great Grandma Colyn (My Grandma Colyn): 81 years and 11 months old:

Tree Drive

On Monday morning Audrey was still feeling pretty icky but we were all a little stir crazy so we piled in the car (pj's and all) and went on a tree drive. Audrey spotted the pretty fall trees and I would take a picture. Even Isaac had fun! Here are just some of our favorites!

{this is at the corner of our cul-de-sac ~ these 3 trees are just beautiful}
{for those of you that have never been to our town ~ we have several brick streets- this is one of them}

Sickie

We knew Audrey was sick when:

she wanted to be held and snuggled -- love this part!
she wasn't being too ornery
she wanted to go home when we went to MiMa and Pops house
she wasn't upset about missing out on Friday breakfast with Nana & Poppa
she would not eat chocolate cake or a fruit roll up

Mommy & Daddy missed out on a big day with friends in Manhattan on Saturday for the game. We were quite sad but knew where we needed to be. We just hope and pray that Isaac does not get this.

Five Months

Seems downright impossible that you are 5 mo already!

These days you:

* love to play in your exercaucer
* try so hard to grab objects- you are a very determine little boy
* have the most CONTAGIOUS laugh
* loud noises scare you; you stick out your lip and cry and it's just so sad
* such kissable cheeks
* never have slept for more than 45 minutes in the car
* watch your sisters every move
* go to bed between 7:30 and 8:00pm and wake up around 3 to eat and go back to bed
* wake up time is around 6:30 or 7:00
* sometimes during the night you need your binkie put back in- sometimes several times
* have the prettiest blonde hair- it's quite thick but so blonde it's hard to see
* sucking on your hands and feet is one of your most favorite things to do
* your favorite toy is your activity mat and you love your Elephant
* as crazy as it seems you've already had an ingrown toenail- you weren't too phased by it
* tried cereal once- weren't too much of a fan- you are a milk man!

What a joy you have been these last five months.
My sweet son, I love you so much!

Misc.

Isaac just being cute.

Audrey eating fresh green beans as her bedtime snack.
First sister/brother bath! Isaac loved it. This bathtub is one of my most favorite baby things!

Audrey & Isaac celebrating Great Nana's birthday at the AC Home.
Isaac trying cereal for the first time. He wasn't a fan and we haven't tried again. He's a big fan of milk so we'll stick with that for a while longer.

Audrey & Isaac on the counter while Mommy fixed dinner. Audrey was reading Isaac books and then she decided they needed to pray so Audrey is praying and clutching Ike's hand.

Yep, that's a boy with only a diaper on in his carseat with a hat on. How adorable is that!

Our dinners these days have a moving centerpiece. Who wants flowers when you can have Isaac Christian?

Baby Bangs in the Making

{"baby bangs": definition ~ the little tiny bangs that new moms grow(not on purpose I might add and yes, they are quite annoying}

This is my daughter doing what Mommy does. For those of you mothers out there- do you remember the hair falling out stage and the process of making "baby bangs"?
A few months after having a baby your hair falls out with a venengance! It's almost as if you are going bald- it's gross but it's true! So, in the morning instead of letting hair trickle down my arm to the floor eventually I shaker out in the sink or over the trashcan and letter fly! Well, here's Audrey doing what Mommy does. I love it that she wants so bad to be like me because in time she'll want to do nothing like her Mommy does.

The Ike Roll

One day after turning 4 months Isaac rolled over. I was making supper and Isaac was on his mat and I peeked my head in on him and he was on his tummy! ahhhh- he did it- I missed it- but good job Boy! I put him back on his back and made him perform for me and he did it! Here he is a couple days ago just practicing his tricks.

Husband's Creation

Chris made this a while back- he had the day off and he spent some of it creating this wonderful meal. I didn't do one thing- just ate it and it was spectacular! I could have had another whole plate. (isn't the rosemary a nice touch?- it was straight out of our garden)

Wicked

I'm pretty excited! I have 4 tickets in hand for Wicked in KC in December. My brother Jacob and his wife Christy are going with us!

"Didn't want to let go!"

This picture sends chills down my spine and tears to my eyes. Just another example of why we should keep our troops in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you to all our servicemen and women.

New Toys

For almost a month now Isaac has been having fun discovering his new toys. This is another wonderful thing about having child #2- you just get to pull out the new toys and don't have to buy them!

The exercaucer: Isaac loves this thing and can spend many minutes investigating all the functions on this circle of fun.

The good ole' trusty bumbo. Good for many things.

Johnny Jump-up- this is something that has to have full time monitoring when Audrey is around- she thinks it's a swing and wants to do under doggies. I'd say I saved my son's life the first and only time we've had this thing up, Audrey gave him a big (crooked) push and swing and little Isaac's head was headed straight for the doorway and I stopped him inches before hitting.
