Weekend pics

This weather has just been BEAUTIFUL!! I just LOVE it!
Here's our weekend in pics:

Isaac being his charming self. This kid is just SUCH a good baby- I swear if every baby was as good as he is the world's population would drastically increase!
Audrey & Pops on a bike ride. Her little buns just fit perfect on the hard metal bar and her feet wrapped around another bar. Sounds painful to me but oh, she loves it!
After church photo shoot.

On Nana & Poppa's porch. Audrey loves being on their porch because they have a porch swing!

Ike's first try at the Bumbo seat! And the first hat to sit on his little blonde head.

Giggles.

2 Samuel 9:7

Chris and I were relieved to know that all the kids in the 2 year old Sunday School Class made this craft - not JUST Audrey!

Milestones

This may not seem big to you non Moms & non Dads out there but this is big time!
NO MORE BINKIE for Audrey.
The story goes something like this.
For a long time now the binkie (bebe in Audreyese) was just for naptime and bedtime.
So, a couple Monday's ago it was bedtime and we were on the search for the bebe. Couldn't find it. I believe I spelled C-R-A-P out to Chris in the hunt- I was worried. Chris made the executive decision to end the search and go to bed without it. Oh good night!
Audrey goes to bed without too much of a fight.
Wakes up once in the middle of the night but she returned without a meltdown.
All week she's good without it. (I can't believe it!)
Saturday morning she finds it in the laundry room.
I run to get the bebe before it goes in her mouth and quickly take it behind the door and cut that sucker right off. Oops!
Give it back to her and say "here you go, I guess if you want it you can have it"!
It goes right in her mouth and immediately comes right out and she gives it a big stare. "It's broken Mommy" I say "oh it is, that's too bad- guess you don't need it anymore"
End of story. I let her throw the bebe in the trash. Bye Bye friend, we all loved you but we're glad you are gone.
Another milestone. Not as dramatic but still big in this little man's life. Isaac is no longer sleeping in the bassinet in our room- he's in his own room in his big boy crib.

3 Months!

Happy 3 month birthday Isaac! We love you in EVERY possible way.

I decided to take these three month pics in a time good for me- not really a time good for Isaac. He was very focused on going inside to eat so he was a serious Sam for almost all of these.

This one was the last pic in the shoot- I thought it was pretty cute and quite funny!

Diners, Drive-ins & Dives

Not gonna lie--these days I'm a Food TV Network junkie. I sit down in the chair to nurse Isaac (when Audrey is either napping or down for the night) and on goes Food TV.
Well, there's an episode on there called Diners, Drive-ins & Dives- so here's Diners, Drive-ins & Dives Kara Style:

Cozy Cafe ~ located in Fairview, KS. (6 miles southeast of Sabetha) population: couple hundred on a good day
Audrey posing on the bench outside. The cozy does not have a menu, the menu (which is usually about 2-3 entree choices) is written on a white board. Tuesday is my favorite day- it's fried chicken day (or roast beef) but their fried chicken is really just wonderful! Homemade mashed potatoes are a must and several other sides you can choose from. Oh, my mouth is watering just thinking about it!

Silly me didn't get a picture of my plate, I had one piece down the hatch before I thought about taking a picture of my plate. My mind was definitely on my plate and not the camera- I had better things to tend to.

This is a side of mashed potatoes. Audrey wanted more potatoes so we ordered a side- and out came a VAT of potatoes but I certainly did not object.

Pie of the day. Can't remember what it was but it was spectacular! Just so you know-- all of us shared this one piece.

GG, MiMa & Isaac went also- I guess I was too concerned with my food to take their pictures as well.

This is the ceiling at the Cozy. Growing up I'd come here often with my Grandpa & Grandma Scoby and we'd have fun writing our names on the tile they had down for signing that day. My name is on a few tiles but this is just one of them I could find. My name is middle about 3/4 of the way down. I must have been dining with my friends this day because I spotted their names as well.

Shucking and Eating

A couple weeks ago Daddy went out to shuck some corn and of course his sidekick Audrey followed. She had just put her swimming suit on(inside out) for no reason except she wanted to and once she got out there and saw Daddy had his gloves on, so she came in and put hers on too.

For our first time growing sweet corn it was a marvelous HIT! It was just so tasty and we never found ONE worm. I guess Daddy knows how to grow us some corn!

It's a tent day!

A rainy, stormy Monday calls for a tent in the living room ("roomy roomy" as Audrey calls it).
and... we might just stay in our pj's all day long!

Indigo Bunting

Bird watching is in my blood. Can't help it. My Grandpa Colyn was the ULTIMATE bird watcher and he was SO good at it. My Grandma Colyn is good too, she can literally hear a bird and know what that bird is. One evening at my parents house their dog Newman brought this bird into the house in his mouth. Even for you non birders out there- you'll be impressed with this beauty- it's called an Indigo Bunting. Luckily the bird was not harmed and we watched him fly away out into the woods in the back of the house.

Bird watcher extraordinaire GG (Great Grandma Colyn) holding Isaac.

God made some beautiful things, didn't he?

New Wheels

We'll we upgraded to a two seater stroller right after Isaac was born. I love this thing- it pretty much walks on it's own.

(luckily I put blanket under Isaac on the way to the park because the ride provoked a major blowout- allll over, but luckily on the blanket-- not our new stroller!)
