Let it Rain!

Sabetha got a much needed (and overdue) rain this morning! It was fun to hear the thunder and hear it just pour! A perfect morning for Chris to not have to get up and go to work ~ so we stayed inside in our pj's and ate warm monkey bread!
In a break between the hard rain, Audrey and I had to go retrieve the mail so I put her in her rain boots (that had never been exposed to the rain before) and we got the mail.
One of the first purchases we made after moving to Sabetha was a RAIN GAUGE- it's common talk around our little town "how much rain did you get?" you better be ready to answer and definitely not say "I don't know, we don't have a gauge"- we just might get kicked out of our town and told to go back to the city. So, here's a pic of our trusty gauge, he's always there when we need him and sometimes gets neglected by the lack of rain but today he's got 1.5 inches in him.
Thank you God for the beautiful rain you provided us! What a blessing.

Isn't it amazing how you can now get excited about "30 hundreths" of rain?? This southeast KS girl is slowly getting used to this dryness! Those boots are too cute!! Kalo's of course have never seen rain - he also got a bob the builder umbrella for his birthday that has MAYBE seen a few drops!! So jealous of Chris's full day off - one of these days I'll convince them to go to 4 days not 4 1/2!!
